As we continue to track the process of construction of our Beacon Hill project, we will start today by sharing with you the gutting and reframing of the existing home. To see our before/after shots of this project for an overview of the work done please click here.
We quickly learned that the existing floors of the home were in disrepair. They were sloped in various directions and it would have been extremely difficult to guarantee proper installation of the elevator. The floors were removed, new joists were installed, and we were off and running.
Excavation required for elevator pit.
One of our recently completed projects is a 6 level 6,000 square ft brick row house located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston. When we initially walked through the house with the development team, we immediately saw its potential as a residence for a growing family.
Follow along with us each week as we bring you the transformation of this Beacon Hill townhouse!
We want to bring to you the progress of our Hancock Street renovation project. This single-family row house, set within the historic and picturesque neighborhood of Beacon Hill, has shown its true potential from the beginning. Although the building needed to be completely gutted, floors and all, our proposed design of each level emulates a classic style with a grand yet functional approach. This project is set for completion in early 2014 and will feature 5 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms (including floor through Master Suite w/ Dressing Hall, large walk-in closets, and adjacent Study), 3 half baths, 2 bars, an Elevator, Entertainment Loft w/ Powder Room and Bar, Au Pair Suite, terraced garden w/ pergola and bluestone seating area, and much more. We hope to create the idyllic setting for this Beacon Hill home, inside and out, reminiscent of its past yet enduring for its future.
